About the project<\/h2>\n

“Can’t You SEA?”<\/em> is an Erasmus+ youth project that brings together young people from six countries to address the challenges of marine pollution, climate change and sustainable protection measures.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcc5 Duration:<\/strong> March 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026 (12 months)<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udccd Youth exchange location:<\/strong> Hylatio Tourist Village, Pissouri, Cyprus\ud83d\udd17 www.hylatio.com.cy<\/a><\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcc6 Date of the youth exchange:<\/strong> November 12 – 21, 2025 (including travel days)<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc65 Participants:<\/strong> 36 young people + 12 group leaders + 2 facilitators<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udcb0 Costs:<\/strong> Travel, accommodation and meals are funded by the Erasmus+ program<\/p>\n

Why this project?<\/h3>\n

\ud83c\udf0e Marine pollution is a global problem!<\/strong>
Every year, 8 million tons of plastic waste end up in the oceans. This pollution threatens marine ecosystems, causes massive “plastic islands” and harms the climate. <\/p>\n

\ud83c\udfdd Cyprus is particularly affected.<\/strong>
As an island nation, Cyprus relies heavily on healthy seas. But the Mediterranean is one of the most polluted seas in the world. <\/p>\n

\ud83d\udc6b Young people can make a difference!<\/strong>
Environmental education on marine pollution is often neglected in schools. This project therefore offers a unique opportunity to take action and find sustainable solutions. <\/p>\n

Aims of the project<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Creating awareness:<\/strong> Young people learn about the causes of marine pollution and how it affects climate change and rising sea levels.<\/li>\n
  • Promote action:<\/strong> Participants develop practical strategies to reduce marine pollution and promote sustainable lifestyles.<\/li>\n
  • Enabling cultural exchange:<\/strong> Young people from six countries learn from each other and develop joint solutions.<\/li>\n
  • Develop skills:<\/strong> Strengthen skills in project management, digital communication and environmental activism.<\/li>\n
  • Implement on-site actions:<\/strong> Direct experience through beach clean-ups, conversations with locals and visits to affected coastal regions.<\/li>\n
  • Passing on knowledge:<\/strong> Creating educational materials (videos, booklets, infographics) to inform others as well.<\/li>\n
  • Expand partnerships:<\/strong> Strengthen collaboration between organizations to promote sustainable environmental projects beyond the exchange program.<\/li>\n
  • Raise awareness of Erasmus+:<\/strong> Inform participants about Erasmus+ opportunities and develop their intercultural skills.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure long-term impact:<\/strong> Establish an alumni network to continue the exchange of knowledge and experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Beach clean-ups: direct action to protect the oceans<\/li>\n
    • Excursions & field research: Investigation of local environmental problems in Cyprus<\/li>\n
    • Discussions with locals: Insights into the impact of marine pollution on the local economy and society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Interactive workshops: Climate change, marine conservation & sustainable development<\/li>\n
      • Role plays & simulations: Developing an understanding of environmental problems and solution strategies<\/li>\n
      • Project planning & group work: creation of campaigns, posters and videos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Creation of social media campaigns to raise awareness about marine pollution<\/li>\n

            Who can take part?<\/h3>\n

            \ud83c\udfaf Young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are interested in environmental and marine protection and want to become active.
            \ud83d\udc65 Tredu Club provides 6 participants & 2 group leaders for the youth exchange in Cyprus.
            \ud83d\udccc All costs (travel, accommodation, meals) are covered by the Erasmus+ program.<\/p>\n
